Getting Started at GoFit

New to GoFit? You’re in the right place. Whether you’re stepping into a gym for the first time or returning after a break, here’s what you need to know to get going with confidence.

What does a GoFit membership include?

Access to all workout zones, body composition machine, guest passes, and the GoFit app, all with no annual fees.

How do I sign up?

You can join online or visit any GoFit club. Just pick your plan and you’re good to go!

Are there hidden fees or contracts?

Nope. All plans are transparent with no annual fees. Choose between contract or upfront payment options. You pay for what you use, nothing more.

Is GoFit beginner-friendly?

Absolutely. GoFit is designed for every level of fitness, from first-time gym-goers to seasoned lifters. Our easy-to-use equipment, clear instructional signage, and non-intimidating environment make it simple to start and stay consistent. 

Are the staff and trainers helpful?

Yes. Across our locations, GoFit team members are consistently recognised for being friendly, professional, and helpful, whether you’re just starting out or need assistance mid-session. 

Is GoFit suitable for women and solo gym-goers?

Definitely. Many female members have shared that they feel safe and confident training alone at GoFit. Our layout, lighting, and cleanliness contribute to a positive and empowering environment. 

Is GoFit good for solo training?

Yes. Many members love the self-guided, fuss-free setup at GoFit. With app-based check-ins and intuitive spaces, it’s perfect for training at your own pace. 

About the GoFit app

Get to know the new GoFit app! We’ve just launched our new GoFit app with everything you need to stay on track, right from your phone.

Is this a brand new GoFit app?

This is a brand-new app, not just an update. The previous GoFit app will no longer work after 21 July 2025 at 10:00pm, so you’ll need to manually download the new GoFit Fitness app from the App Store or Google Play to continue using our services. Your data won’t automatically transfer, so please follow the first-time login steps to get started fresh.

What are the key features of the GoFit app?

I'm logging in for the first time. What do I do?

Follow these steps:

  1. Tap the Login icon on the homepage
  2. Select “Reset Password”
  3. Enter your email and tap “Reset Password”
  4. Check your inbox and follow the link and prompts to set a new password

Why is GoFit launching a new app?

We’re upgrading to the new GoFit Fitness app starting 21 July 2025 to offer a more seamless, user-friendly mobile experience. This will be the only official app for all GoFit members moving forward.

What happens to the current GoFit app?

The current GoFit app will be discontinued on 21 July 2025 at 10:00pm and will no longer function. You’ll need to download the new GoFit Fitness app to continue booking classes and managing your membership. Please note that any past data, such as check-in history, will not be carried over.

When and how will the transition happen?

The transition happens at 10:00pm on 21 July 2025. After that, the old app will stop working and all members should switch to the new GoFit Fitness app.

Do I have to download the new app?

Yes, all GoFit members must download the new GoFit Fitness app to continue accessing services such as member QR card, membership info, and exclusive member benefits.

Where can I download the new app?

You can download the GoFit Fitness app here:

Note: The app is currently not available on the Huawei AppGallery.

Will my login details stay the same?

No. You will need to create a new account by resetting your password using your email registered with GoFit Fitness from after downloading it on 22 July 2025.

Can I use the password that I previously used to reset my password for the new app?

Yes. Please ensure that you use your registered email address with GoFit Fitness to reset and set your password for the new app.

Do I need to pay for the new GoFit Fitness app?

No, the app is free for members to use.

What if I need help with the new app?

What kind of equipment do you offer?

Our gyms are equipped with free weights, power racks, cardio machines, kettlebells, functional gear, and stretch therapy areas at select locations. Whether you’re into strength training, cardio, or mobility, we’ve got you covered.

Are GoFit gyms crowded?

While some peak hours may be busy, our efficient layouts and zoning make it easy to find your own space to work out, even during high-traffic periods. 

Is the gym clean and well-maintained?

Cleanliness is one of our top priorities. Our facilities and equipment are regularly cleaned and sanitised to maintain a high standard of hygiene throughout the day. 

Are lockers and showers available?

Yes. All GoFit locations offer clean showers, changing areas, and secure lockers for your convenience. 

Do GoFit gyms have water dispensers?

At current moment, only GoFit Mont Kiara offers filtered water dispensers.

Are there mirrors for checking form?

Yes. Mirrors are thoughtfully placed across all gym zones to help you monitor your form and improve your technique safely.

Does GoFit gym offer personal training?

Yes. All GoFit gyms offer personal training services with certified fitness professionals. While GoFit is built for self-guided training, personal training is available if you’re looking for extra guidance, structure, or support.

What is personal training like?

Personal training at GoFit is tailored to your goals whether that’s building strength, improving form, losing weight, or boosting endurance. Trainers provide one-on-one support, create personalised programs, track progress, and ensure your workouts are safe and effective.

How much is personal training?

Pricing may vary depending on the trainer, package, and location. You can view available personal training rates and packages through the GoFit app or speak with a team member on-site for details.

How do I get started with personal training?

It’s easy to begin. Explore available trainers at your GoFit location, and book a session that fits your schedule. You can also enquire in-gym for recommendations or help getting started.

Not all GoFits are built exactly the same but the core experience is! Find out how access works, what to expect at different locations, and how to make the most of your time, anywhere.

Are all GoFit locations the same?

Every GoFit location offers the same core experience, but some locations may have additional facilities or specialised equipment. You can check the app or your nearest location page for more details. 

Do GoFit locations offer group classes?

Currently, GoFit is built on a self-guided, fuss-free gym model. Group classes are not part of the offering at most locations, allowing for a flexible and efficient workout experience. 

Can I bring a guest with me?

Yes, you can bring a guest with you. Every new member receives 5 free guest passes, which can be used with up to 5 different guests. These guest passes have no expiration date. Once all 5 passes are used, any repeat guest will need to pay a RM30 entry fee per visit.

Membership & Account

Managing your GoFit membership is easy and fully digital. Need help with your plan, billing, or upgrades? Here’s where you’ll find the answers.

What’s the difference between GOAL, FLEX, GAIN, and GAIN PLUS?

  • GOAL: Contract plan (12 months), lowest monthly rate
  • FLEX: Shorter contract (4 months), more flexibility
  • GAIN: 4-month plan paid upfront, no joining fee
  • GAIN PLUS: 12-month plan paid upfront, no joining fee, max value

How do I log into my GoFit account?

You can log in to your account at any time through our website. From there, you can manage your membership, check gym access, update billing details, and more. 

What is a body composition machine and how does it work?

It’s a smart body composition scanner that helps you track fat, muscle, and more – perfect for goal setting.

How do I check my membership plan?

Once logged in, your account dashboard will show your membership type, billing status, and any available add-ons. 

Can I cancel my membership?

Membership cancellations are only approved in specific situations (e.g. relocation over 50km, medical reasons with a doctor’s letter, bankruptcy, or death). You must provide one month notice period. Cancellation fee applies.

If you don’t meet the cancellation criteria, you have the option to transfer your membership to someone else instead.

Can I pause or freeze my membership?

Yes, you can freeze your membership for a minimum of 1 month and up to 10 months with a fee of RM20.40 per month. Membership freezes must be applied for the full month from the 1st to the 30th/31st and cannot be split into weeks.

  • Please inform your club before the 20th of the month for the freeze to start the following month.
  • You must also be an active member for at least 3 months before requesting a freeze.
  • If you’re still under contract, your contract will be extended by the freeze period.
  • If you’re out of contract, no extension applies.
  • Early unfreeze is allowed, but prorated fees will apply.

How do I freeze my GoFit membership?

You can freeze your membership via the GoFit app. Before doing so, we strongly encourage you to speak to a GoFit staff to understand the terms of freezing your membership.

How to freeze your GoFit membership via the GoFit app:

  1. Open your GoFit app
  2. Tap on My Membership
  3. Then, tap on My Membership again
  4. Under your membership plan, tap on Manage.
  5. Tap on Freeze subscription to proceed.
  6. Select the dates you intend to freeze your GoFit membership.
  7. Select Save to complete freezing your membership.

Can I transfer my membership?

Yes. Speak to our team at the club or email our GoFit team. We’ll be in touch to assist you with the transfer.

What’s the process if equipment breaks down?

If you notice any equipment that’s not working properly, please approach any of our staff on the floor or at the front counter. They’ll assist you and report it for maintenance right away

How do I get help when staff isn’t on-site?

If you can’t find a team member right away, please wait at the counter someone will be with you shortly.
